Remember the 1997 film, ‘Buried Alive II’?
Well, the unfortunate and terrifying event happened to a woman in Washington who was stabbed and buried alive in the woods by her ex-husband.
In the movie, Laura is married to Randy who hates his life in the small town, and because Laura doesn’t empathize with him he has an affair.
He tells his girlfriend that he will leave Laura for her, but she’s not patient. Laura and Randy learn that she has inherited a fortune from her uncle and Randy sees this as their opportunity to get out, but Laura is hesitant.
Randy hears the story of what happened to Clint and decides to do something similar to Laura.
Randy gives Laura the toxin and plans to make sure of her death by having her embalmed twice, but the machine breaks down, so she is buried alive.
When Clint learns of Laura’s “death”, he goes to dig her up, but dies from heart failure just as he opens the coffin.
Laura awakens and returns home to find Randy with his girlfriend. However, instead of simply killing them. she instead decides to play an even deadlier game with them.
The woman in this bizarre story however seek some help from the authorities after she was found.
With all her might, the woman, who has not been named, managed to survive by wiggling around the shallow grave for hours to keep the dirt off her face.
A statement of reasonable suspicion was submitted on Wednesday in Washington county’s superior court.
The panicked woman was discovered sheltering behind a shed in the front yard of a house by the Thurston County Sheriff’s office around 1 o’clock in the afternoon.
The court document narrated that the woman screamed, “My husband is trying to kill me!”.
It also described the woman’s condition as having “duct tape still wrapped around her neck, lower face, and ankles.”
“There was extensive bruising to her legs, arms and head, and her clothing and hair were covered in dirt,” it continues.
The authorities were able to identify the accused, 53 year-old Chae Kyong An, the woman’s husband.
An is currently in police custody and is expected to be charged with several offences, including attempted first-degree murder, abduction, and assault.
An was detained on Wednesday at a preliminary hearing after being placed in the county prison, according to the Thurston County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office,
The judge approved the prosecutor’s petition to keep An without bail.
As per the probable cause statement, on Sunday afternoon, police in Lacey, Washington, which is located approximately 60 miles southwest of Seattle, visited the woman’s house after getting a 911 call about a woman who was screaming and sounding choked.
After discussing their ongoing divorce and finances with her husband, the woman subsequently informed police that she had been attacked in her house, the outlet further reported.
